Selected output of decadal prediction system based on MPI-ESM-LR 1.0.02_EUROSIP:
(1) Assimilation assimPDAF3 with atmospheric nudging to monthly temperature, vorticity, divergence, sea level pressure from ERA40/ERAInterim and 8-member oceanic global ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) assimilating monthly salinity and temperature profiles from EN3. The EnKF has been implemented offline as a restart wrapper with the parallel data assimilation framework PDAF, developed and maintained by Lars Nerger.
(2) Hindcasts dkfs4eYYYY with 8 members started January 1st each year 1960-2014, running for 10 years.
All simulations with CMIP5 external forcing.
Simulations have been run during phase I of MiKlip in 2015/2016 by Sebastian Brune.
Output format is close to but not totally matching CMOR standard.
Output contains selected 2D and 3D fields of atmospheric and oceanic parameters including sea ice and ocean biogeochemistry.
