Radiative-Convective Equilibrium Model Intercomparison Project (RCEMIP) Simulation Dataset


Summary
RCEMIP is a coordinated intercomparison of models configured in radiative-convective equilibrium, an idealization of the tropical atmosphere, targeted towards investigation of tropical convection and climate. The experimental design consists of two domain configurations (large and small) simulated across three values of fixed, uniform sea surface temperature (295, 300, 305 K), with uniform insolation and no planetary rotation. The dataset includes contributions from atmospheric general circulation models (GCMs), single column models (SCMs), cloud-resolving models (CRMs), large eddy simulations (LES), and global cloud-resolving models (GCRMs).
