Dataset

Summary: From 1979-01-15 to 1979-02-23 and from 1979-06-01 to 1979-07-04 a total of 291 (155/136) radiosondes were launched from RV Meteor at intervalls of 12 hours. Measured parameters are temperature, pressure and humidity. Wind direction and speed are determined by OMEGA navigation system.

The dataset consists of one archive file (.tar) which contains 291 data files, one for each sounding. The file format is 'ascii-text', the representation of the measured parameters is described in the 'readme'-file inside the .tar-archive and in the 'additional_info' entry (FGGE1979_meteor_rs_info).
