This dataset contains 14 simulations with the global ocean model ICON-O. The runs start from 100-year spin-up simulations and are run for 3 years with OMIP forcing. The general circulation model also includes the full lunisolar tidal forcing.
The different model set-ups are as follows:
- R2B6: homogeneous grid with 40km horizontal resolution, vertical z-coordinate, top level 14m thick
- R2B65_zstar_11m: homogeneous grid with 40km horizontal resolution, vertical z*-coordinate, top level 11m thick
- R2B65_zstar_2m: homogeneous grid with 40km horizontal resolution, vertical z*-coordinate, top level 2m thick
- R2B8: homogeneous grid with 10km horizontal resolution, vertical z-coordinate, top level 14m thick
- BCT: telescoping grid with 8-80km horizontal resolution, vertical z-coordinate, top level 14m thick
“SAL” means that the parameterization for self-attraction and loading was enabled. “TBD” indicates that a parameterization adding tidal bottom drag was included in the respective simulation.
All set-ups are run with 128 vertical levels.
